Louisiana is famous for their crawfish, Mardi Gras, and Jazz just to mention a few. It is rich in culture and history. This unique state serves Creole cuisine and is home to prominent culinary personalities like Emeril Lagasse. I am sure most of you already knew this. But, did you know about Louisiana’s quirky laws? Below you will find 10 of them:

  1. It is illegal to shoot lasers at police officers
  2. You could go to jail for 20 years for urinating in the city’s water supply
  3. Rituals that involve the ingestion of blood, urine or fecal matter are illegal
  4. Reptiles are not allowed within 200 yards of a parade
  5. Voodoo practice is illegal in city limits
  6. Persons could land in jail for up to ten years for stealing an alligator
  7. It is illegal to rob a bank and then shoot at the bank teller with a water pistol
  8. There is a $500 fine for instructing a pizza delivery person to deliver a pizza to your friend without your friend’s knowledge
  9. One could land in jail for up to a year for making a false promise
  10. Biting someone with your natural teeth is “simple assault,” while biting someone with your false teeth is “aggravated assault

So, next time you are thinking about stealing an alligator or ordering pizza for your friend, please think twice.
